Orbital Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworker Gang to work on a major infrastructure project in Kettering. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Groundworker Gang with strong deep drainage experience to secure long-term, consistent work.
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Groundworker Gang who can deliver high-quality work within a fast-paced civils environment.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 07:30 – 17:30 (9 hours paid)
- Long-term work available (7–8 months)
The Role – Groundworker Gang
As part of a Groundworker Gang, you will be responsible for carrying out deep drainage and pipeline installation works, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installing drainage and pipework systems to line, level, and gradient
- Working within deep excavations and trenches
- Backfilling, compaction, and general groundworks duties
- Working closely with Lift Supervisors and other site teams
- Reading and working from drawings and site specifications
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety on site
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as part of a Groundworker Gang
- Strong background in deep drainage and pipe laying
- Experience with large-diameter drainage systems
- Ability to read drawings and work to levels
- Experience working safely in deep excavations
- Must hold all relevant tickets and cards
- Ability to pass medical and site induction if required
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-focused
Pay Rates:
- Groundworkers: £19–£21 p/h
- Kerb Layer: £21–£22 p/h
- Machine Ops: £23–£24 p/h
- Pipelayers: £23–£24 p/h
- Banksman/Slinger: £20–£21 p/h
- Labourers: £17 p/h
- Gateman: £18 p/h
- Weekend uplift TBC
