Orbital is an AI-first industrial company building hardware from the atoms up. Our goal is to lead an industrial renaissance to advance critical technologies and secure our planet for generations to come. We’re starting with critical hardware for AI data centers to make them more performant and sustainable. Every Orbital product is invented with our AI platform — uniting AI-automated hardware engineering with AI-designed material science to achieve breakthrough real-world performance.
We have an ambitious mission and need excellent people in all our teams - AI research, operations, advanced materials, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and manufacturing. Working at Orbital means working in tightly integrated, vertically integrated teams. We’re looking for people who have a love of physical technology, curiosity in AI and a desire to learn.
We are looking for a Content Manager who knows how to turn complex ideas into commercially effective writing and campaigns. You'll own Orbital's content strategy from the ground up: defining the editorial vision, creating high-impact content across formats, and ensuring everything ties back to pipeline and growth. You'll work closely with GTM, Sales, Product, and Science teams to produce content that resonates with technical audiences, and you'll use data to continuously sharpen what's working. Deep expertise in materials science isn't a prerequisite; intellectual curiosity and the ability to get up to speed quickly on complex topics is.
If you're energised by the challenge of making hard things clear, and by the opportunity to build something that genuinely matters, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities- Content Strategy & Commercial Impact: Own and drive Orbital's content strategy with a clear line of sight to commercial outcomes - pipeline, lead conversion, and revenue acceleration - balancing long-term brand building with short-term GTM needs. Act as a strategic partner to Sales, identifying gaps in the buyer's journey and building the assets that move prospects forward, from awareness content to technical deal-closers. Use data and performance insights to measure effectiveness, iterate quickly, and make the case for where to invest next.
- Editorial Ownership & Delivery: Own Orbital's editorial voice, tone, and standards - establishing the processes (briefing, drafting, review, publication) and acting as an editorial partner who enables subject matter experts to contribute without sacrificing quality. Produce thought leadership connecting Orbital's materials innovation to pressing challenges in data centres, energy efficiency, cooling, and sustainability. Lead production of high-impact content across formats: presentations, product specs, technical blog posts, and scientific explainers - using AI tools to work efficiently without sacrificing rigour. Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Science, and Leadership to originate ideas and ensure content is accurate, relevant, and aligned to business priorities. Track developments across AI and data centre infrastructure to keep content timely and credible.
- Community & Distribution: Build Orbital's presence across key communities - data centre, infrastructure, AI research, chemistry, and engineering. Develop content that strengthens positioning with technically fluent decision-makers globally. Pioneer new ways to activate content and grow Orbital's reach.
- Proven ability to independently devise and execute a content strategy that drives a GTM function. You understand how to use content as a lever for revenue.
- Experience working closely with Sales and GTM to identify content gaps in the buyer's journey and address them with high-impact assets.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills, with strong long-form examples; proficient in using LLMs and tools to execute efficiently and at scale.
- Experience in or an affinity for deep tech, compute, energy, cooling, or industrial technology sectors.
- Strong editorial judgment, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail.
- A builder mindset with a genuine passion to create a foundational content function from scratch.
- Data-driven: you use analytics and performance data to inform decisions, optimise content, and report on impact clearly.
- Startup or early-stage company experience is a plus - we move fast, priorities shift, and we're looking for someone who finds that exciting rather than uncomfortable.
- Competitive salary and equity package - the ability to own part of Orbital as we grow.
- Flexible and generous paid time off.
- Excellent health, dental and vision insurance plan.
- Regular company offsites to the USA and beyond.
- The experience of working in a cutting-edge organisation dedicated to a better future.
