The role
The purpose of this role is To lead and manage the Technical Case handlers to effectively case manage complex and disrepair cases to resolution.
Deliver a quality, resident-focused Disrepair Surveyor Service working collaboratively with internal and external Legal Counsel, external contractors, and internal departments.
This role will play a significant part in the settlement of Disrepair cases, acting as the main contact for customers and legal representatives while their case is being processed, seeing works through to completion. You will be highly organised and meet legal requirements. You will be required to learn and update Orbit’s systems to support the work that you will be engaged in. This information needs to be recorded securely, and any remedial actions processed
This role is part of Property where you\'ll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.
What you\'ll achieve
You will be required to deal with all technical aspects of cases received by the team effectively and efficiently.
Lead the delivery of the housing disrepairs program, proactively monitoring cases to ensure works are completed on time to the appropriate standard
Lead and convene cross service engagement with internal and external solicitors, tenancy and legal
Take an active part in discussing consent orders, ensuring the organisation complies with any agreed terms including proactively monitoring the completion of work within imposed deadlines
Manage and consult on authorizing payments and monitoring spending to ensure we come within budget
Explore the development of alternative dispute resolution processes to stem the flow of disrepair cases
To attend court on occasions to give evidence of your investigation and support the disrepair caseWhat you\'ll bring
Essential skills
Proven experience at a managerial level in a social housing environment
Previous experience of Disrepair and an understanding of the legal protocols.
A qualification or working towards a CIH level 4 or equivalent
HHSRS qualification.
Experience of developing services and strong performance managementDesirable skills
Coaching and mentoring knowledge
Legal, RICS or CIEH qualification.
Experience of influencing others towards a customer-centric approach to working.
