The role is to be part of a team to deliver our sector leading net zero carbon strategy and assist to drive energy performance improvement through implementation of solutions to reduce carbon and increase energy efficiency through improvements and installation of renewable measures. This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.

What you'll achieve:

  • As a qualified property professional and a subject matter expert on energy efficiency in residential buildings, you will support the Energy Strategy Manager to carry out site and desktop surveys, and using your technical knowledge, specify and recommend best measures and build deliverable work packages.
  • Work closely with the Energy Strategy Manager to develop and deliver our sector leading net zero carbon strategy.
  • Assist the Energy Strategy Manager in utilising and maintaining the RdSAP targeting software to enable in-depth analysis and modelling of the stock both at present and to understand the impact of energy efficiency works on key metrics such as EPC, operational carbon, customer fuel bills, HTC and heat demand.
  • Carry out site surveys to validate and specify any proposed energy efficiency works and recommend best measures, assisting the Energy Strategy Manager in building deliverable work packages in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage any pilot schemes to test innovative measures and gather necessary data on the product from a performance, cost and reliability perspective.
  • Assist the Energy Strategy Manager to ensure all legislative policy requirements are met.
  • Engage with members of the Strategic Asset Management Team to understand the implications of the zero-carbon strategy with other key objectives.

What you'll bring:

Essential skills:
  • Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) with an excellent understanding of SAP.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of PAS2035.
  • Experience in analysing large energy efficiency-based data sets and creating deliverable and pragmatic packages of projects.
  • Experience in creating project proposals and presenting these to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in converting project proposals into deliverable work streams, inclusive of procurement and project reporting.
  • A knowledge of environmental and property legislation, focusing on housing is essential.
  • Experience of using a range of I.T. packages (including Excel, Parity Projects, Word etc.).
  • Ability to travel.
Desirable skills:
  • Undergraduate or Post-graduate qualification in a relevant Building / Sustainability / Energy qualification.
  • Experience in using PowerBI to present complex data sets.
  • PAS 2035 Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management.
  • PAS 2035 Level 4 Qualification in Domestic Retrofit Assessment.
