The role

We are looking for a handyperson to work across schemes in Bexley and Medway providing support at sheltered schemes. You will be working directly with customers, carrying out small repairs in and around the customer homes. You will work with the wider Independent Living team to provide excellent service.

Flexibility to support the wider team may be required.
This role is part of Customer & Communities where you\'ll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than , customers.

What you\'ll achieve

  • Support customers in own homes by carrying out small repairs in and around the scheme
  • Work across a range of schemes in the South (focus on Bexley and Medway)
  • Work with wider team - Scheme Officers, Managers and Handyperson team to provide excellent service
  • Ensure all health and safety and compliance measures are met
  • Be able to travel - own transport essential (mileage covered)

What you\'ll bring

Essential skills

  • Experience of carrying out a wide range of small repairs and adaptations.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and ability to write risk assessments..
  • Ability to maintain accurate records both written and electronically.
  • Competent user of ICT, with the ability to send emails, compose and print letters, complete online forms and be able to use in-house IT packages.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the issues faced by older people or vulnerable groups.
  • Own driving licence - Van will be provided
  • Experience of trade background i.e. carpentry, plumbing, brick laying or electrician (preferable)
