The role

Orbit are delighted to be recruiting for a Service Charge Analyst to join us in this brand new role. In this role, the Service Charge Analyst will provide support to the Finance Manager and operational business units to deliver accurate financial information and meaningful insight including actuals, budget variances, budget setting and forecasting, with a key focus on estate services and estate services DLO.

Key to this role, you will harness your stakeholder management skills to build lasting relationships with internal stakeholders and partners. This team plays a vital role in working with the customer and the business, so a professional with stellar communication skills and a natural creative approach to problem solving will flourish in this newly created finance role. This role is part of Finance where you'll help us to invest more back into communities and design for strength. The team are currently working roughly once per week on-site from our Coventry office (subject to business need).

What you'll achieve

  • Creation of accurate information on the financial ledgers for example preparing and posting journals, reconciling accounts, and analysing information.
  • Overseeing and taking accountability for the integrity of balance sheet accounts (e.g. analysing and clearing suspense accounts, reconciling, and verifying balance sheet accounts).
  • Analysing, checking, transforming data to/from stakeholders to create budgets and deliver insightful monitoring reports.
  • To support the Finance Manager with the preparation of financial forecasts, taking accountability on key service charge expense categories.
  • Creating strong relationships with stakeholders including the ability to influence and gain buy in from internal customers, ensuring an understanding of their needs, their pressures and their business to enable sustained financial and operational business improvements.
  • Proactively seek out other views and methods to resolve problems, improve service charge delivery and identify and develop and deliver on key areas for process improvement.

What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Part Qualified (CIMA / CIPFA / ICAEW).
  • Appropriate experience in a similar finance role.
  • Appropriate working knowledge of Service Charge operations & regulations with relevant experience.
  • Appropriate proven experience of using accounting systems and software, specifically advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
