The role

Orbit is delighted to be recruiting for four Paralegal's to join us for a period of 6 months to work on a property specific project , in line with our transformation programme.

In this role you will provide focused document review and verification support to the Governance and Legal Services team on Orbit’s Third-Party Management Project.

You will also provide a review of AI-assisted summaries of leases and transfers to verify the accuracy of key information against a set of pre-designed review questions, producing robust, clear and reliable records of property obligations, rights and third-party management arrangements.

The postholders will work quickly and precisely to identify discrepancies and gaps between AI-generated outputs and source documents, helping to strengthen Orbit’s relationships with managing agents and wider understanding of key obligations and responsibilities across the portfolio.

This will be a primarily remote based role, with occasional travel to one of our Orbit sites to meet with the team - this can be Coventry, Erith, Kent, Hastings, Sussex or Norwich.

This role is part of Technology & Information where you'll help us give colleagues the infrastructure, support and insight they need to be brilliant.

  • What you'll achieve
  • Review AI-generated summaries of leases and transfers against the original documents, verifying accuracy and completeness by reference to a set of pre-designed review questions.
  • Work quickly and precisely to agreed deadlines, prioritising a high volume of lease and transfer reviews within a time-critical project timeline.
  • Provide administrative and project support to assist delivery of Orbit’s Third-Party Management Project and related strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with the identification of data gaps and inconsistencies, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Support the delivery of key measures and reporting to support project delivery within the required timescales.
  • Coordinate with other key project roles to ensure an effective, aligned and collaborative project delivery.
  • Assist senior colleagues with project monitoring, action tracking and stakeholder updates.
  • Contribute to the wider programme of work to strengthen Orbit’s relationships with managing agents, supporting the organisation’s readiness ahead of regulatory inspection.
  • What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Law degree (LLB or equivalent).
  • A basic understanding of property law and contracts, gained through a law degree or equivalent legal qualification, or through relevant experience working in the property, conveyancing or leasehold management sector.
  • Experience working with large volumes of data, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse information and identify trends, anomalies and areas requiring further investigation.
  • Clear written communication skills, with the ability to record findings accurately and escalating issues to senior colleagues in a concise and timely way.
  • An understanding of leasehold property management and the interaction between leasehold, freehold and estate management arrangements.
  • Experience supporting projects, governance activity or operational improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of layered leasehold structures, estate charges or third-party managed communal arrangements.
