As our People Development Partner (Capability Development), you will play a key role in partnering with leaders across the business to build organisational capability and support the delivery of our People Strategy.

Working closely with the Professionalisation Lead and wider People Development team, you will help shape, deliver and embed practical capability solutions that enable colleagues to perform at their best and continue to grow throughout their careers. This role will also hold line management responsibility of our Capability Coordinator, and is an agile working role with one day per week working on-site (subject to change weekly in line with business need). This role is part of People and Strategy where you'll help us to build a culture and brand that people want to be part of.

What you'll achieve

  • Partner with leaders and managers across allocated business areas to understand capability requirements and support the delivery of business priorities through effective learning and development interventions.
  • Use workforce data, capability insights and stakeholder feedback to identify capability gaps, emerging development needs, and opportunities to improve performance.
  • Lead the ongoing rollout, embedding and continuous improvement of Orbit's Professional Development Framework across agreed role groups, ensuring a consistent, high-quality colleague and manager experience.
  • Own the implementation roadmap for the Professional Development Framework, working with business leaders to plan deployment, manage stakeholders, and ensure successful adoption across the organisation.
  • Lead the design and implementation of future Continuous Professional Development (CPD) frameworks for role groups outside the Professional Development Framework, supporting Orbit's ambition for every colleague to have a clear professional development pathway.
  • Plan and deliver all framework deployment activities, including stakeholder engagement, manager briefings, colleague workshops, calibration sessions, coaching, drop-in support and communications.
  • Use capability data and workforce insight to identify organisational strengths, risks and development priorities, making recommendations to inform future learning and capacity investment.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrable experience of designing, implementing or embedding capability frameworks, competency frameworks or similar workforce development approaches.
  • Experience of partnering with operational leaders and stakeholders to deliver organisation-wide capability or learning initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to engage audiences ranging from frontline colleagues to senior leaders.
  • Experience of designing and delivering engaging blended learning and capability development solutions.
  • Ability to coach, support and challenge leaders to build capability within their teams.
  • Experience working within the housing sector or another regulated environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards.
