The role

Orbit is delighted to be recruiting for a Leadership Development Specialist to join our People Development team in working on some key upcoming projects in line with our Everyday Excellence program. At Orbit, we are passionate about developing all our colleagues to ensure everyone can perform their job well and have an opportunity to develop to meet their aspirations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, partnering with the business in shaping and growing our Learning and Development offering.

The successful candidate will continue to develop our Managers and Leaders, growing, building and harnessing internal talent to ensure excellence in service across the group. Great leaders with a fully stocked toolkit will help steer our ship and raise the bar of performance across our organisation. Alongside partnering with a business area, the specialism of this role is to support us in our vision of creating a population of capable, confident, inclusive visible leaders through the procurement, design, and delivery of a suite of management and leadership development initiatives that will set the standard for leadership for today and years to come. This role is part of People and Strategy where you'll help us to build a culture and brand that people want to be part of.

What you’ll achieve

  • Work with the Head of Learning and Talent Development to deliver the learning agenda for specific business areas, adopting an agile mindset to adapt the plan to reflect emerging business needs.
  • Carry out data led training needs analysis, utilising all available insights to identify gaps and areas of development to form the overall delivery plan, following the 70:20:10 model.
  • Design and deliver onboarding programmes to ensure a best-in-class leadership onboarding experience for internal and external leaders at all roles across the organisation.
  • Lead on the procurement, design and delivery of a suite of innovative and future focused leadership development programmes and initiatives.
  • Deliver high quality learning and development initiatives, including workshops, virtual learning, action learning sets and group or individual coaching to leaders across all levels within the business.
  • Coach and mentor more junior members of the People Development team where required.

What you’ll bring

Essential skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, to complete own work to a high standard within tight timescales.
  • Ability to coach effectively, deliver feedback and advise on appropriate initiatives as a credible L&D expert.
  • A track record of creating and maintaining strong working relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues, both on-site and remotely.
  • Comfortable delivering different subject matter to varying levels of colleague (up to and including senior leadership roles).
  • Experienced professional with in depth knowledge of design and delivery of leadership development interventions targeted at leaders from first line up to and including head of level.
  • Able to provide effective line management and/or project team management to achieve complex or high priority objectives and develop others personally and professionally.
