The role Orbit are delighted to be recruiting for a Data Developer to join our team, coming on board to provide support on technological developments across the organisation, in line with our transformation program. The Data Developer will provide group wide management information and reporting solutions that will support and inform the organisation in meeting its strategic goals. This is an agile working role, with roughly two days per month based out of our Coventry office. This is a 24 month fixed term contract role. This role is part of Technology & Information where you'll help us give colleagues the infrastructure, support and insight they need to be brilliant.

What you'll achieve:

  • Ensure Orbit data security and information governance policies are adhered to throughout the development lifecycle
  • Subject matter expert in SQL Server technologies (SQL, SSIS, SSRS)
  • Subject matter expert in development practices including: Azure Devops, source control (TVFS, GiT), automated unit testing and deployment pipelines.
  • Utilising and promoting the use of Azure technologies within business solutions, such as SQL VM’s, Azure SQL databases, Key Vaults, Data Factory, Synapse.
  • Supporting the team to deliver data integrations between Orbit and third-party organisations, including stock transfer with other housing associations.
  • Undertake the role of 3rd line support on problems and queries.

  • Experience of Microsoft operating system and applications
  • High level of SQL Stored Procedures
  • High level of SSIS
  • High level of SSRS
  • High level of Reporting Development Tools
  • High level of Database technologies
  • High level of software development lifecycle practices utilising a devops CI/CD approach.
  • Ability to analyse and document complex business processes
  • Experience interacting directly with end users for both projects and day to day work
  • Azure Data Lake, Data Factory and Synapse Technology
  • Experience of Housing sector software (ActiveH)
