Orbit seeks a Customer Communications Officer to deliver customer‑centric content, manage crisis communication and support marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high‑quality, customer‑focused content and campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Lead and coordinate multi‑channel campaigns to promote Orbit, driving awareness and positive behavioural change.
  • Ensure all content meets high standards, is customer‑centric, and reflects Orbit’s tone of voice.
  • Manage sourcing or commissioning of visual assets (film, photography, animation, visuals) representing Orbit’s customer base.
  • Act as a brand advocate; ensure communications promote the organisation’s vision, values and Customer Commitments.
  • Participate in Out‑of‑Hours rota and support crisis communications, incident management across customer, colleague and media channels.
  • Measure the effectiveness of content and campaigns; produce reports with actionable learnings for continual improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Degree level or equivalent with a relevant professional qualification, or appropriate experience in developing communication and marketing campaigns using digital and print media to engage customers.
  • Experience in crisis communication and issues management.
  • Experience working with external agencies and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in communication and marketing tools, confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, creative and strategic thinking, ability to plan projects and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Clear understanding of target audience requirements and ability to tailor content for the channel and desired outcomes.
