Orbit Communications, one of Scotland’s leading PR, public affairs, digital, and design agencies, is actively seeking a Media and Parliamentary Monitor to join our dynamic team on a part-time, contractor basis. This role is ideal for an individual eager to launch or expand their career in Public Relations or Public Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily media and parliamentary monitoring, including:
- The national Scottish and UK press for stories of interest to clients and the wider team
- Morning/Lunchtime/Evening radio and TV news reporting, including topical programmes
- Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament monitoring, including committees, parliamentary motions, written questions, answers, government statistics, publications and consultations
- Hyperlocal social media/press monitoring of locations where we operate across Scotland and the UK, including local newspapers, local journalism, community groups, and regional TV and radio
- Flagging in real-time alerts of interest to the wider team
- Weekly media report writing summarising items of interest for clients
