I'm working with a global investment management firm looking to hire an Associate Director into its Product Operations team following continued growth and evolution of the business. This is a broad role sitting at the intersection of Fund Operations, Product Development and Change, providing oversight across a large and diverse range of investment products and working closely with internal teams and external service providers. It would suit someone who has built a strong foundation in ETF, mutual fund or broader fund operations and is now looking for a role with greater ownership, stakeholder exposure and involvement in how products and processes are designed.

The Role

You'll join a collaborative Product Operations team responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operating model across a broad investment product range. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing oversight of outsourced fund administrators, custodians, transfer agents and other service providers
  • Overseeing operational processes covering NAVs, pricing, reconciliations, cash flows, creations/redemptions and market data
  • Acting as a senior escalation point for complex operational and fund-related issues
  • Partnering with Product Development on new product launches, helping design the operational model and processes required to support them
  • Working closely with teams across Portfolio Management, Product, Legal, Finance, Technology and Compliance
  • Managing and developing relationships with key external counterparties
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and scalability
  • Supporting the continued adoption of automation, technology and AI-enabled workflows
  • Contributing to wider strategic and operational change initiatives across the business
  • Potential to take on line management responsibility as the team continues to develop

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience within Fund Operations, Product Operations, Fund Accounting, Investment Operations or a related function
  • Previous hands-on experience of the operational processes you will now be responsible for overseeing
  • Strong understanding of NAVs, pricing, reconciliations and fund operating models
  • Experience working with and overseeing fund administrators, custodians and/or transfer agents
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence working across both technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, ideally supported by a quantitative, finance or STEM-related academic background
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets and complex calculations
  • Experience supporting new fund/product launches, operating-model design or process improvement
  • An entrepreneurial mindset – someone who is comfortable challenging existing processes and looking for better ways of working
  • ETF experience would be advantageous but isn't essential – candidates coming from a strong mutual fund or broader investment/fund operations background will also be considered.
  • Experience with Python, VBA, workflow automation or AI tools would also be highly attractive, although genuine interest in using technology to improve operations is equally important.

Why Join?

This isn't a traditional BAU operations position. The team has a genuine mandate to improve how the function operates, with significant focus on automation, AI, new product development and scalable operating models.
