Orbis is working with a rapidly growing FinTech firm whose core technology has helped to transform the Investment Management industry. They are now seeking a Senior Software Engineer with excellent Python or Rust experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer with a background in Financial Services to work alongside an industry-leading team of Quant, Product and Software Engineers on the technology underpinning the operations of some of the world’s leading Investment Managers.
Your key responsibilities in this role will be:
- Working with senior business stakeholders to capture requirements for new solutions and enhancements to the core technology product offering
- Architect and develop scalable cloud-native back-end services in AWS and other performance-critical systems written in Rust / Python
- Building a strong understanding of the asset classes, financial products and broader industry serviced by the core technology
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 8+ years commercial experience of Software Engineering with Python as the core programming language (including Django, Flask and/or FastAPI) as well as strong exposure to other programming languages (ideally Rust)
- Excellent system design and architecture experience
- A strong interest in the Financial Services / Investment Management industry
- Proven track record in developing distributed systems in a microservices architecture on cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
