We’re working with a scaling technology company building modern infrastructure products used by engineering teams operating in highly sensitive and high-trust environments. The business sits in a genuinely interesting space between developer tooling, cloud infrastructure and secure systems, with a strong engineering culture and a big focus on building products properly from the ground up. They’re now looking to hire a senior security leader to help shape and scale security engineering across the organisation as the platform and customer footprint continue to grow.
The Role
This is not a governance-heavy or purely compliance-focused security position. The role sits very closely with engineering, infrastructure and product teams, helping embed security into the core of how systems are designed and built.
Responsibilities will include:
- Driving the overall security engineering strategy.
- Partnering with software and infrastructure teams on secure architecture and engineering practices.
- Improving detection, monitoring and incident response capabilities.
- Building scalable approaches around cloud security, automation and internal tooling.
- Helping mature security processes in a fast-moving engineering environment.
- Acting as a senior technical voice internally across security best practices and risk management.
What They’re Looking For:
They’re open-minded on background, but they’ll likely be interested in people who have:
- Strong hands-on security engineering experience.
- Experience operating within modern cloud-native environments.
- Knowledge across infrastructure, application and cloud security.
- A strong engineering mindset with an interest in automation and tooling.
- Experience working in fast-paced product or platform-led technology businesses.
- The ability to balance technical depth with leadership and communication.
Environment:
You’d be joining a collaborative, engineering-led team working on technically complex systems where security is seen as a core product and engineering function rather than a separate department. The company is still at a size where you can have genuine influence, ownership and visibility whilst working on problems around scale, infrastructure and secure systems design.
