A global hedge fund with a footprint in the US, Asia and Europe is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join the wider Infrastructure team in London. The business has recently strengthened its leadership team with senior hires from competitor firms as they embark on a business-wide technical transformation.
You’ll join a small, high-impact network team as their third hire. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real ownership and design input, not just BAU support, in a high-availability trading environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure with a focus on high availability and performance
- Supporting a Kubernetes platform build-out and the scaling of data centre infrastructure
- Troubleshooting connectivity, performance, and security issues across the network
- Proactively monitoring systems and participating in capacity/infrastructure planning
- Coordinating with vendors on hardware/software issues
What they’re looking for:
- 7+ years' network engineering experience in highly available environments
- Strong grounding in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs
- Hands-on with Cisco and Arista (Arista experience doesn't have to be extensive)
- Strong in IaC tooling (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi etc)
- Background in data centres
- Happy to be in the office 5 days a week with occasional visits to the Data Centre and co-locations.
