Birchwood School is looking for a dedicated Education Administrator to join our warm, supportive team and help keep our busy specialist school running smoothly.

Your Role as an Education Administrator

In this varied and rewarding role, you will be at the heart of the school’s operations. Responsibilities include:

  • General Office & Administrative Support: Managing daily office tasks such as filing, photocopying, responding to emails and phone calls, and liaising with parents and staff. Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with meeting arrangements, minute taking, and communication across the school.
  • Finance, Systems & Compliance: Assisting the Assistant Head of Education with petty cash. Ensuring all administrative processes follow company policies for confidentiality, record keeping, and information management. Maintaining contact databases and keeping essential information accurate and up to date.
  • Health, Safety & School Operations: Supporting the implementation of Health & Safety procedures, fire safety, and visitor protocols. Reporting hazards, faulty equipment, or maintenance concerns to the School Caretaker. Ensuring systems are in place to manage resources such as alarms, fobs, and equipment.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Helping to ensure smooth communication between school departments, Head Office, parents, and external partners. Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, solution-focused atmosphere.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 2 (or higher) Customer Service / Administration qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and digital skills
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to stay calm under pressure

Desirable:

  • Microsoft Office qualifications
  • Experience within a school or education setting
  • Knowledge of HR processes or Health & Safety
  • Understanding of Estyn or ISS standards
  • Use of initiative and ability to work independently
