Role Overview

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the day‑to‑day support and care of individuals with autism. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes their physical, emotional, and social well‑being.

About Maes Y Coed

Maes Y Coed, our newest home in the Pembrokeshire area near Pembroke Dock, comprises five individual flats located on the grounds of its sister service, Bangeston Hall. We take pride in offering personalised care packages tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each adult at Maes Y Coed.

A typical day in the life of working at Maes Y Coed may include:

  • Provide person‑centred care and support to individuals with autism.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Encourage and support individuals in participating in community activities and pursuing their interests, such as swimming and bowling.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and record the progress of individuals, ensuring all care plans are followed.
  • Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and developing new skills.
  • Promote a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well‑being of all individuals.

We are looking for people who care and have:

  • A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Resilience and patience when faced with challenges, adapting to individual needs.
  • A willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team.
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
  • A full UK driving licence – essential for supporting our individuals with transport to appointments and activities.
  • The right to work in the UK with at least 12 months remaining on your visa (if applicable).
  • No experience needed – just passion, patience, and commitment!

Please note this job role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
