Support Worker – Adults with Autism
Gowerton, Swansea
£12.60 – £12.80 per hour | Full Time | Days & Nights Available
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role
What the Role Is Really Like
As a Support Worker, you\’ll help adults with autism live active, independent lives. You\’ll spend time supporting everyday tasks and encouraging independence. Driving supports trips into the community, activities, and community outings. Some days are active, cooking, walks, hobbies. Other days focus on personal care and emotional support. When challenges arise, you\’ll provide calm, compassion, understanding, supporting a safe, respected environment. Full training and a supportive team are part of your journey.
A Typical Day May Include
- Supporting adults with physical, emotional, and social wellbeing
- Driving and supporting individuals to access activities, appointments, and community outings
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills development
- Building strong, trusting relationships
- Working as part of a close-knit team to deliver personalised support plans
- Keeping accurate records of daily activities and progress
- Supporting with household tasks, including cooking and cleaning
What We\’re Looking For
- A caring, patient, and compassionate nature
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Resilience and adaptability when supporting individuals with different needs
- A willingness to learn – full training provided
- Basic IT skills for record keeping
- Flexibility to work a rota including weekends and occasional night shifts
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
Please note: This role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an Enhanced DBS with barred list check.
