About The Role
Senior Support Worker - Treharris
£13.75 to £14.20 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Full time - 45.5 hours per week

Both Ty Banwen and its neighbouring service, Ty Aelwyd, have been rated Excellent in recent CIW audits, reflecting our commitment to high‑quality care, strong leadership, and positive outcomes for the people we support. As part of our long‑term development, Ty Banwen will transition to supporting adults by 2027. Ty Banwen is located in the Taff Bargoed Valley town of Treharris and offers a spacious garden for outdoor activities and relaxation. Directly behind Ty Banwen is our sister service, Ty Aelwyd, which also provides a supportive, nurturing environment and works closely with the Ty Banwen team. Together, these services form a strong, collaborative hub of care within the local community. The homes are well connected, with Merthyr just 10 miles away and Cardiff only 30 minutes from the doorstep.
A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker includes:
- Acting as shift leader
- Ensuring service standards are consistently maintained
- Supporting reporting and evidence‑gathering activities
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Contributing to assessment, development and review of support and care plans
- Promoting and celebrating the home’s achievements
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience in a support environment
- A full driving licence
- QCF Level 3 (or working towards)
- Knowledge of statutory regulations
- The ability to lead by example and act as a positive role model
- Commitment to upholding company policies and standards
- Strong safeguarding awareness
- Good understanding of Health
