Role Overview
Due to expansion we are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide high‑quality care and support to individuals with autism, helping them to lead active, socially valued, and fulfilling lives. You will work closely with each individual, tailoring support to their unique needs and aspirations.
About Awel Y Mor
Situated near the charming Saundersfoot harbour, Awel y Mor is a welcoming home for up to three adults aged 18 and over. This spacious residence features three double bedrooms, communal lounges, a modern kitchen, and a tranquil landscaped garden. Awel y Mor feels like a family home, balancing learning, leisure, and life skills. Our creative team of carers works closely with each individual to ensure they feel happy and supported.
A typical day in the life of working at Awel Y Mor may include:
- Provide person‑centred care and support to individuals with autism.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Encourage and support individuals in participating in community activities and pursuing their interests, such as swimming and bowling.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and record the progress of individuals, ensuring all care plans are followed.
- Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and developing new skills.
- Promote a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well‑being of all individuals.
We are looking for people who care and have:
- A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Resilience and patience when faced with challenges, adapting to individual needs.
- A willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
- A full UK driving licence – essential for supporting our individuals with transport to appointments and activities.
- The right to work in the UK with at least 12 months remaining on your visa (if applicable).
