About The Role

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at Dan Y Coed School, Swansea.

We are part of Orbis Education & Care, a specialist education and care provider for children with autism, complex needs and SEMH challenges. Our approach is person‑centred and empowering, supporting each child to learn, grow and thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers to deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support to pupils, helping them develop social and academic skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through patience, empathy and encouragement.
  • Assist with personal care routines where required, ensuring every child’s comfort and dignity.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and families to support each pupil’s individual progress.
  • Help organise and take part in creative, hands‑on learning activities, both in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications

  • Has a caring, compassionate attitude and a genuine passion for helping children.
  • Brings energy, patience and a positive approach to every day.
  • Is adaptable, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Holds GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Ideally has experience working with children with additional learning needs (though full training is provided).
