We are working with a well‑established power and infrastructure organisation operating in the energy and utilities space. They deliver front‑end design, engineering and tender support services across civil and M&E works – partnering with key industry stakeholders to plan and execute complex schemes efficiently and safely.
Senior leadership opportunity for a dynamic design professional to lead and shape the design function across multidisciplinary projects. You will ensure design quality, innovation and delivery excellence across regions, working closely with commercial, technical and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, develop and mentor the design team across multiple locations
- Define and implement design strategy, standards and best practice
- Ensure design outputs are innovative, compliant and fit for delivery
- Work collaboratively with project leadership, clients and stakeholders to drive design solutions
- Oversee design resource planning, budgets and design documentation quality
- Champion technical excellence and contribute to business growth through design leadership
- Proven experience leading design teams within engineering or built environment environments
- Proven experience delivering detailed design for Overhead Line (OHL) and High Voltage cable transmission projects
- Strong background in HV transmission, typically ranging from 66kV to 400kV
- Hands‑on experience across detailed design, technical specifications, and design assurance
- In‑depth knowledge of UK transmission standards, including National Grid, DNO, IEC and BS EN standards
