The role:
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Policy and procedures.
- Ensure all production and process recording systems are completed accurately.
- Fully prepared for Daily Review meeting, ensuring that issues are being addressed by the appropriate support function.
- Ensure absence reporting and RTW’s are being done as required.
- Use capability, disciplinary and attendance procedures to manage non-conformance.
- To be continually focussed on cost reduction by efficiency improvement and investment opportunity.
- As part of the management team proactively support the improvement of health and safety performance both within the department and across the site.
- Being proactive – checking and auditing to ensure procedures are being followed.
- To develop individuals and teams to achieve their maximum potential.
- To work as a member of the management team towards good industrial relations across the site.
- Undertake Employee reviews, Team Briefs or similar as and when required.
- To regularly communicate both formally and informally with employees the aims, objectives and relevant performance indicators of the Company.
- To keep the Production Manager and Production Supervisors updated on the status of key priority items.
- Manage the shift production operation across 5 Departments - Mixing, Extrusion, Injection Moulding, Universal Cells, and Assembly.
- Assume site responsibility at weekends – as the most senior person on-site.
- Full time on-site at Chippenham.
The profile:
- Sound knowledge of production processes including planning/scheduling of machines, tooling, and labour.
- Broad knowledge of related and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Production Supervisor/ Management experience.
- IT literate to use Microsoft Office products.
- Practical knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology and problem-solving techniques.
- EHS legislation quality processes/procedures – IPPC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Coaching and mentoring for improved performance.
- Essential – Basic secondary school education.
- Desirable - ILM Level 3 or equivalent IOSH/NEBOSH Qualification.
