Main Purpose
To support the design, development, installation, validation and improvement of analytical instruments, methods and technology for the Medical QC laboratories on site at Rocksavage and at third party locations as required. The role will support the implementation of new and improved laboratory systems, processes and procedures in line with pharmaceutical cGMP standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide expert analytical knowledge and problem‑solving support to Orbia Fluor and Energy Materials Medical QC teams and external customers to resolve production or product quality‑related problems.
- Define, source, implement and validate new analytical equipment, instruments, and systems to meet current and future Medical QC testing requirements.
- Maintain & calibrate QC analytical equipment in line with laboratory procedures & schedules; always ensure availability of critical equipment to support production.
- Lead or support technical projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and/or compliance of laboratory processes, procedures, and IT systems.
- Work closely with production, technical and QC teams to understand production processes and analytical requirements to support problem‑solving and/or improvement activities.
- Provide training and coaching in analytical techniques, test methods and/or laboratory systems to technical and QC teams as required.
- Manage the complex safety challenges of high hazard chemical analysis including the application of risk assessment / risk management methodology.
Qualifications Desirable: Degree in Chemistry or related subject.
Knowledge/Experience Required
- Pharmaceutical cGMP laboratory operations.
- Analytical method development to cGMP standards including gas chromatography and associated CDS systems.
- Implementation, testing & validation of analytical equipment & methods to pharmaceutical GMP standards.
- Creating, reviewing, and approving technical / Quality documentation including procedures, plans, protocols & reports.
- Use of laboratory IT systems (LIMS, CDS, EQMS, MS Office etc.) including super user / system administration roles.
- Lean / continuous improvement, e.g. VSM, RCA, 5S, etc. would be desirable.
- Data integrity processes & procedures would be desirable.
