Main Purpose

The Senior Engineering Manager provides leadership, oversight, guidance, and direction to a cross functional team of Maintenance, Facilities, Planning, Capital Expense Project, Reliability and Integrity Departments to ensure that the operations at the UK Sites (Rocksavage, Cheshire Technical Centre & The Heath) can be operated safely, reliably and profitably to meet Orbia's short- and long-term objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leadership, strategic direction and management of the engineering departments: Mechanical and Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I). This includes but not limited to, Maintenance, Civil, Capital Expense Project/Planning, DCS, and Contractor management.
  • Key partner of the Site Production Manager in ensuring that the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is maintained and maximized across the UK plants, assets and infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all internal customers in support of site-wide operations.
  • Support the site objectives by directing safe and efficient preventive and corrective equipment repairs in a timely manner to maximize OEE.
  • Responsibility for managing the development of the engineering teams and their individual members to ensure maximum contribution to the business.
  • Provides Mechanical, Civil and EC&I strategy and oversight for the assets life cycle through leading the different processes such as the planning process, asset acquisition, operation, maintenance, and decommission / disposal of the asset.
  • Maintain and improve performance of the company's physical assets and control maintenance Labouré and material costs to achieve plant performance goals whilst optimizing costs and working capital.
  • Effective participation as a site and operations senior manager to define and implement SHEQ&S strategy and direction for the business.
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with all aspects of safety, health and the environment and cGMP quality for the function in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements and recognised best practice.
  • Provide high-quality project and program management standards across the whole project lifecycle of the capital expense projects.
  • Work closely with the Orbia Fluor and Energy Materials Business Engineering Director (BED) to efficiently deliver Rocksavage site capital program and meet all expectations related to Orbia PMO systems.
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary professional teams.
  • In line with Orbia's Future Fit Leadership model, continue to develop self and teams and continue to maintain a robust pipeline of talent to support the site and Orbia chemical operations into the long-term future.

Qualifications

Academic level: Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.

Knowledge/ Experience Required

  • Over 20 years of experience in the chemical industry.
  • 15 years of experience in maintenance management within the chemical sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team collaboration skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical maintenance, reliability, integrity, and engineering controls.
  • Strong expertise in electrical, control, and instrumentation (EC&I) maintenance, reliability, integrity, and engineering controls.
  • In-depth understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in SAP, maintenance systems, CAPEX management, and other relevant tools and processes.
