Overview Orbex are looking for Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Assembly Integration and Test (AIT) team, to support the design, analysis and manufacturing of our launch platform structure and ground system equipment. This is an exciting role where you will be working with a team of experts to develop high–precision and high–performance components which will ultimately be launched into orbit. This role will work closely with key team members across design, development, composites specialists, analysis and manufacturing to provide you with a varied set of tasks, learning from some of the best engineers in the industry. Responsibilities Design and development of structural and mechanical components and assemblies for the launch vehicle and its supporting ground segment equipment (GSE), including assembly and test fixtures. Evaluate design and ensure functionality, ease of assembly, and safety for manufacture, assembly and system integration. Conduct computational analysis of stress, static and dynamic loading, high temperatures and vibrational impact. Support development of Launch platform structures and GSE (including Launch Vehicle Dolly\\\’s and Rollout vehicles). Provide hands–on engineering support to hardware prototype development and test. Managing multiple tasks and work packages in parallel with changeable priorities. Develop detailed technical documentation and ensure adherence to requirements, safety, and industry regulations.
