In this role you will have the exciting opportunity to identify patterns and trends to influence product development by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting sports data.

Your day-to-day:

  • Manages regular data collection processes, ensures accuracy in data, and performs initial data analysis.
  • Maintains standard operating procedures for routine testing protocols.
  • Leads product deployments, ensuring devices are correctly calibrated and functioning in various sports settings.
  • Leads smaller research initiatives or parts of larger projects to innovate and improve product offerings.
  • Leads workshops for customers to ensure optimal use of product technology.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at the direction of management.

You should apply if:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physiology, Biomechanics, or related field.
  • You have a minimum three (3) years of experience in sports science, particularly with wearable technology in an applied setting.
  • You have experience and interest in sport and performance through own experience, coaching, and/or supporting athletes.
  • You have presented research project findings at an industry or academic meeting or conference.
  • You have familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, R, or MATLAB).
  • You have knowledge of statistical tests (t-test, correlation, effect size) and can report data and effects for reports.
  • You have knowledge of basic signal processing techniques (e.g., noise reduction, filtering).
  • You have the ability to assess data using basic functions (e.g., filtering, grouping) and handle simple data cleaning tasks.
  • You have the ability to assess data critically, challenge assumptions, and propose evidence-based solutions for performance and health improvements.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master's degree in Sports Science, Physiology, Biomechanics, or related field.
  • Experience working for, or with, academy or professional level athletes.
  • Evidence of a commitment to professional development through additional certification, applied research, or volunteer activities (e.g., Strength & Conditioning qualifications, research project or publications, roles with academy or professional teams).
