Graduate Nuclear Safety Consultant – Warrington

Orano Limited is a nuclear specialist technical consultancy and engineering organisation working across the decommissioning, defence, nuclear new build, medical, fuel‑cycle and transport sectors.

As a Graduate Nuclear Safety Consultant you will be part of a 2‑year graduate scheme that gives you real‑time exposure to high‑hazard nuclear safety cases and assessment activities. The role involves delivering technical documents that meet client expectations and supporting the long‑term growth of Orano.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultancy that meets, and exceeds client expectations regarding technical excellence, deliverable quality, timescales and cost.
  • Actively contribute to nuclear safety cases and assessments for high‑hazard category facilities/plants.
  • Produce all major elements of nuclear safety cases, in particular fault analysis and the identification and specification of safety systems.
  • Develop and present robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
  • Participate in the integrated design process and interface with engineers and human‑factors specialists.
  • Write modifications to nuclear safety cases.
  • Participate in governance processes, responding to client, peer review and safety committee comments.
  • Attend meetings with more senior colleagues and interact with the client.
