Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultancy that meets and exceeds client expectations in technical excellence and quality of deliverables.
- Deliver consultancy that meets and exceeds client expectations in terms of timescales and cost.
- Provide nuclear safety advice and guidance in multidisciplinary projects interfacing with engineers, human factors specialists, and other disciplines.
- Develop and present robust, reasoned arguments in a coherent manner.
- Provide technical checking and/or verification for technical/compliance thoroughness and QA standards.
- Liaise with all concerned on technical progress.
- Take documents through earlier stages of client governance.
- Support stakeholder management internally and for clients.
- Work with the Business Development Team to identify opportunities with clients to develop the business.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years professional engineering/technical specialist experience.
- A degree or equivalent in engineering, science or a related field of study.
- Understanding of the safety case production process and methodologies for more than one client.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing and producing complex safety cases for a variety of plant types at different lifecycle stages, working unsupervised within a team.
- Familiarity with areas such as decommissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing, radioactive waste.
- By the start of employment, permission to work in the UK and willingness to undergo a security vetting process; employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.
- May require regular travel to other Orano sites and client sites, depending on project & client requirements.
