The position: Applicants are invited to apply for the role of maintenance electrician to join our small maintenance team at the company's Brandon site near Thetford. The role is a full-time position, working over a five-day week (Monday to Friday) with rotating shift start times. There will be the opportunity to work weekends at an enhanced rate. You will be expected to cover shifts for holidays and sickness and work overtime as and when required to affect the smooth running of the factory. The role would ideally suit someone from a heavy industry background, although this is not essential. Previous concrete experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
As the Maintenance Electrician, your duties and responsibilities will vary from day to day based on the company’s requirements, but will include:
- Working under health & safety guidelines
- Be responsible to the Maintenance Manager
- Ensure the safe efficient running of the factory and processes
- Monitor all electrical equipment and ensure its safe operation
- Carry out breakdown repairs in a safe and timely manner
- Provide assistance with other members of the maintenance team
- Install, test, examine and maintain electrical equipment on site
- Carry out routine electrical planned maintenance and assist from time to time with mechanical maintenance as required
The person:
- You will have served a recognised City & Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship
- BS 7671 8th edition would be an advantage
- Have electrical experience working in a continuous process environment
- Have proven experience in electrical fault finding
- Be able to troubleshoot and solve process problems
- Be familiar with general factory maintenance practices
- Basic mechanical skills
- Be able to work using your own initiative
- Be self-motivated and able to work on your own or as part of a team
- A current IPAF licence would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills
Pay: £45,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
