The predicted salary is between 800 - 1400 £ per month.
We are currently working in partnership with local employers as they seek to add Trainee Cable Hands to their team.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK AWAY FROM HOME (TRANSPORT PROVIDED). Any relevant site experience will be beneficial but full training will be given.
CANDIDATES MUST:
- Be able to pass a safety critical worker medical – must be physically fit with any pre-existing medical conditions able to be controlled via GP (verified by GP) to pass the medical. This is a physically demanding role!
- Be able to travel away from home Monday through Thursday night and be brought home during Friday. Some sites require different shift patterns and overtime, including nightshift, must be comfortable with these variable working patterns if required.
- Will be collected from agreed point with supervisor, transport to and from the site from collection is provided by employer.
- A payment is made for your ‘dig’ overnight stay.
- Be contactable via Mobile device.
- Must contact the office every Friday if current Supervisor has not indicated where next weeks’ work is.
- Be able to complete online inductions prior to attending some sites.
- Be comfortable to work at height and in confined spaces. A lot of our work is off scaffold or other high-level access or in service tunnels/access compartments.
- Be able to regularly pass a drugs and alcohol test. All sites operate all or random sampling on induction. Employer also now does random sampling. Any prescription drugs must be indicated to us before going to work to verify if will impact on point 1.
- Must be able to obtain cable labourers standard tools of ‘Knips, Podger’ and toolbelt. Can be bought from Charles Dickens, Screwfix or other hardware outlets.
- PPE will be provided for each project.
TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:
Complete our 9 course and receive the following qualifications and a guaranteed interview with the employer:
- Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Working in Construction and Building Industries.
- Level 1 Award in Health and Safety within a Construction Environment.
- Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Low Risk Confined Spaces, Working at Heights.
- CSCS Green Card.
- CCNSG Safety Passport.
- IPAF 3A & 3B.
