We are looking for a programme coordinator based in Wales. The position is remote with travel across Wales and one day per month in our office in London for team cohesion.
The Position
You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to support the delivery of our educational programmes. Reporting directly to the Head of Programmes, you will be tasked with delivering programmes on Political & Media Literacy, counter-extremism, and online safety. This will involve traveling to a variety of educational settings to deliver our programmes, alongside supporting our Head of Programmes. Projects can vary from media literacy workshops for schools, online harms CPD training, to city-wide democratic engagement stalls.
The applicant needs to be motivated, interested in counter-extremism, and passionate about Political & Media Literacy. The job is based on a 6-month contract, with likely extension (including a 3-month probation period).
Key responsibilities
- Deliver a wide variety of programmes across a diverse range of settings and cohorts.
- Recruit, coordinate and support schools and teachers across the UK to take up our programmes
- Support in updating and creating resources around the topics of Political Literacy, Media Literacy and Counter – Extremism
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, councils, 3rd sector stakeholders through our CRM system.
- Travel nationally and/or internationally to deliver
- A UK driver’s licence is required (access to a car also is preferable)
- Fulfil other duties as reasonably requested
Skills and Experience
- Experience in delivering to young people and adults.
- Confidence.
- An understanding of and interest in media & political literacy and counter-extremism (PCVE / REMVE).
- Ability to organise, prioritise and manage a diverse workload.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) and other relevant software.
- A strong interest in political and media literacy, civic engagement, and addressing online harms.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, taking initiative to solve problems.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, social sciences, communications) is preferred.
- Strong writing skills are desirable.
- Proficient in the Welsh language.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
