We seek an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver living in commuting distance of Corby, to join our logistics team as a Car Transporter Driver.

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-end Vehicle delivery service offering collection and deliveries of prestige motor vehicles across the UK in enclosed 6-car transporters. Experienced drivers preferred but exemplary candidates with excellent HGV Class-1 driving and employment record can be trained on all aspects of Car Transportation while learning on the job at full pay.

Working on behalf of our blue-chip high-profile clients, you will be using your enclosed car transporter, assigned to you, to carry out your daily duties of vehicle deliveries and collections.Your salary of £38k will be augmented by occasional overtime with nights out.

Please note, this is not a Tramping job but overnights will be required on a random basis for longer distance trips, but always with advance notice. Some weeks there may be no overnighting at all.

Our Drivers typically earn up to £45K+. European trips are available for those who want it but this is totally optional and not a requirement of employment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of new cars to various locations via 6-car enclosed truck, assigned only to you. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. Experience with Car Transporters is advantageous but not required provided you have a good HGV Class-1 employment record.

This is long-term permanent employment with a stable and secure family-owned business of more than 20 years and a great opportunity to get into the much sought after car transportation business.

Responsibilities

  • Operate an HGV Truck in compliance with all relevant traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cars on transporter deliveries.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork for each trip.
  • Communicate effectively with planners and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols while on the road and during loading/unloading processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when handovers are involved, ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class-1 UK driving licence with valid CPC.
  • Familiarity with car transporter operations is a plus but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
  • Maximum 6 points SP’s
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
  • Valid Tacho Card
  • Ability to pass a Drugs and Alcohol test.
  • Ability to pass any required background checks or assessments related to driving history.
