Vallance Discount Carpets is a family run business that has been trading in the south side of Glasgow for over 50 years. We are currently looking for a carpet estimator/salesperson for our busy store in Cathcart. The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for measuring customers’ homes but will also be expected to serve customers in our store, advise on the range of carpets and flooring available, calculate sales prices, order stock from and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers, and maintain the showroom. Experience in measuring and estimating in the carpet industry would be advantageous.

Required skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Comfortable working with customers on a one to one basis
  • Willingness to develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products
  • A good grasp of arithmetic
  • High personal standards, from hygiene to paperwork
  • A flexible approach to working hours with a 5 day working week including weekend work
  • Driving License
