This is an excellent opportunity to work within the social housing sector, making a real difference to communities across Scotland. You’ll be conducting EICRs, installing distribution boards, and providing reactive maintenance services to residents in housing association properties. This role offers stability, variety, and the satisfaction of supporting vulnerable tenants with essential electrical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) – Conduct thorough inspections in compliance with IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) across housing association properties
- Distribution Board Work – Install and upgrade consumer units in social housing properties
- Reactive Maintenance – Provide prompt, effective solutions for electrical faults and issues for housing association tenants
- Emergency Response – Participate in on-call rota for urgent electrical problems
- Documentation – Produce accurate, detailed inspection and maintenance reports for housing association clients
- Safety Compliance – Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations and housing association standards
- Tenant Liaison – Communicate professionally and compassionately with housing association residents
- Professional Development – Engage in ongoing training and team collaboration
Essential Requirements
- Valid electrical qualifications (City & Guilds 2391, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in domestic electrical work, particularly EICRs and consumer unit installations
- Current ECS card
- Full UK driving license
- Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and safety standards
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding communication skills and customer service approach
- Ability to work sensitively with diverse tenants in social housing environments
