Garvock House Hotel is an award-winning boutique hotel set within beautiful grounds in Dunfermline. Renowned for our weddings, events, restaurant dining, and warm Scottish hospitality, we are looking for a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and drive our food offering to the next level.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Chef or ambitious Senior Sous Chef ready to step into a leadership role within a busy and rewarding hotel environment.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will take overall responsibility for the kitchen operation, delivering outstanding food for our restaurant, weddings, conferences, private functions, and special events. You will have the freedom to develop seasonal menus, lead a dedicated team, and make a significant impact on the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team.
- Design and deliver high-quality seasonal menus.
- Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Manage kitchen operations for restaurant service, weddings, and events.
- Control food costs, stock management, and supplier relationships.
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and team performance.
- Work closely with management to enhance the overall guest experience.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience within a hotel, wedding, or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Strong financial awareness and experience managing kitchen budgets.
- Passion for fresh, high-quality food and exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
