Role Overview: The role will consist of a variety of different elements. This will include a variation of laser cutting, UV printing, CNC router, packing and despatch. Cutting bespoke products from perspex sheets. Upload programs onto the laser cutting machines in order to produce production in a timely manner. Performing prescribed maintenance as required. This position requires working in a cell environment to ensure it functions properly and efficiently and responsible for meeting quality standards and deadlines for products. Having the ability to communicate effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that daily production and quality targets are met within the work area.
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- The ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks.
- Good attendance and timekeeping record.
- Ensuring good housekeeping duties are carried out and work stations are a safe working environment.
- Ability to cope with changes in demands and circumstances.
- As a production operative you will be flexible in assignments as positions may vary from time to time including sorting, picking, packing dispatch, labelling and palletising.
- Ensuring all Health and Safety procedures in the work area are observed and followed and that relevant PPE is worn at all times.
- Working to achieve daily targets in a fast paced environment.
- Preparing outgoing goods for courier collections.
- Palletising items for shipment.
- Picking products from our warehouse.
- Picking and packing items throughout the warehouse, preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery.
- Liaising with colleagues and Shift Managers to ensure efficiency.
- Sorting and placing materials onto racks and shelves.
- Supporting new members to the team.
- The ability to work from 2D drawings.
- Ensuring all machinery is in good running order at all times.
- Where appropriate, communicate any issue to a Shift Manager.
- Ability to monitor multiple machines.
- Rotating 2 weekly shift patterns.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in manufacturing or production is preferred but not essential.
- Technical certification or vocational training in laser cutting operations is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to undergo additional training.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
