As we continue to grow, we require an experienced Training & Compliance Officer to join the team at our food manufacturing facility in Bellshill.
Job Purpose
The Training & Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting and maintaining compliance across the factory through effective staff training, health & safety management, food safety compliance and administrative support. The role ensures that all employees are trained and competent in their duties while helping the business meet legal, customer, and internal compliance standards within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with all departments to promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Training & Development
- Maintain training records and competency matrices.
- Organise refresher training and on‑the‑job coaching across departments.
- Monitor and track mandatory training requirements, including health & safety, food safety, allergen awareness, manual handling and machinery training.
- Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Ensure all training documentation is accurately completed, signed, and electronically filed.
- Coordinate inductions for new starters and agency workers.
- Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing employee development.
- Administration
- Maintain accurate compliance and training documentation.
- Update training systems, spreadsheets and compliance trackers.
- Prepare reports relating to training, accidents and compliance performance.
- Assist with onboarding administration and employee records.
- Health & Safety & Compliance
- Promote a positive health & safety culture across the site.
- Support accident, incident and near miss investigations.
- Assist with risk assessments, safe systems of work and compliance checks.
- Ensure staff comply with PPE, hygiene, food safety and company procedures.
- Support preparation for customer, internal and third‑party audits.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Good understanding of health & safety and food safety compliance.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or Food Safety qualifications.
- Experience with audit preparation and compliance systems.
- Experience delivering workplace training and inductions.
