Looking for a senior HSE role where you can genuinely shape culture, influence leadership, and leave a lasting impact on a large manufacturing site? This is a high-profile Head of Health, Safety and Environment opportunity for an experienced HSE leader who wants real ownership. Working at site leadership level, you’ll be the driving force behind health, safety and environmental strategy, embedding best practice while continuously raising standards across a complex, fast-paced operation.
You’ll act as the site’s subject-matter expert, a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, and a visible champion for a proactive, engaged safety culture.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Leading the health, safety and environment strategy for a large 24/7 manufacturing site
- Acting as the site expert on HSE legislation, compliance, and employer’s liability matters
- Driving year-on-year improvements in accident reduction, near-miss reporting and safety behaviours
- Managing and developing the on-site HSE function and associated occupational health activities
- Owning HSE KPIs, reporting performance to site leadership and wider business stakeholders
- Acting as the key contact for the HSE, enforcing authorities and emergency services
- Supporting audits and contributing to cross-site and divisional HSE initiatives
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) as a minimum
- Chartered IOSH membership or actively working towards it
- Strong operational HSE leadership experience within manufacturing (food industry ideal)
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change
- Confident managing audits, investigations, and regulatory engagement
- Experience leading teams and delivering continuous improvement projects
- Salary: £70,000
- 5% matched pension contribution
- Single BUPA private medical cover
- 3x life assurance
- 8 weeks company sick pay
- 3 months’ notice period (either side)
