We’re working with a well-established food manufacturing business in Livingston that’s looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to take ownership of the engineering function on site. This Engineering Manager role would suit someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, building relationships with the team, and creating a positive engineering culture. You’ll be leading a team of 12, working closely with production, and helping keep the site running safely, efficiently, and reliably. The business wants an Engineering Manager who can bring ideas, improve systems, and help move the site forward.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and supporting the engineering team day to day across the Livingston site
- Driving preventative maintenance and improving engineering reliability
- Working closely with production to reduce downtime and keep the operation running smoothly
- Supporting continuous improvement projects across the factory
- Making sure engineering standards, compliance, and food safety requirements are always met
- Developing the engineers on site and helping build a strong team culture
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working as an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering Leader within manufacturing
- Food or drink manufacturing experience would be ideal
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to get the best out of people
- Good understanding of engineering compliance and manufacturing standards
- Someone practical, approachable, and confident making decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Engineering qualifications are beneficial, whether mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge would be a bonus
