What's On Offer * £47,000 salary * Quarterly bonus scheme paying between 2.5% and 15% * Private medical insurance * Life assurance (death in service) * 33 days holiday including bank holidays * Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 8% * Employee Assistance Programme * Monday to Friday days role * Ongoing training and development * Long-term career opportunities The Role - Instrumentation & Controls Technician * Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a specialist manufacturing facility * Fault finding on instrumentation, control systems and combustion equipment * Supporting PLC and Burner Management System diagnostics * Conducting Thermal Uniformity Surveys (TUS), System Accuracy Tests (SAT) and calibration activities * Maintaining and improving preventative maintenance schedules * Recording maintenance activities through the CMMS system * Identifying and specifying critical spare parts * Supporting continuous improvement projects across the site * Working closely with specialist OEM engineers and internal engineering teams * Ensuring high standards of safety, quality and compliance at all times What We're Looking For * Experience working as an Instrumentation Technician, Controls Technician, EC&I Technician, Instrument Engineer or Controls Engineer * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Understanding of PLCs, instrumentation and industrial control systems * Experience working within manufacturing, process, heavy industrial or engineering environments * Ability to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings * Knowledge of calibration activities and process instrumentation * Engineering qualification such as Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC or HNC preferred * Experience of combustion systems, furnaces or burner management systems would be advantageous This role would suit engineers from steel, foundry, glass, chemicals, power generation, oil & gas, cement, paper, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, process manufacturing and other industrial environments.
