This Engineering Team Leader position offers exactly that.
You'll be joining a large heavy engineering site in Sheffield, taking responsibility for engineering maintenance across several production areas while leading an established team of experienced Engineering Technicians.
Both mechanically and electrically biased engineers will be considered.
You don't need to be an expert on every machine. The site has a huge variety of equipment and experienced technicians who know the plant. What we're looking for is someone who can lead people, organise engineering activity, make good decisions and provide technical support when needed.
The role
As the Engineering Team Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering performance of your areas.
You'll be responsible for:
Leading and supporting the day Engineering Technicians
Prioritising planned and reactive maintenance
Supporting complex breakdowns and engineering problems
Developing and managing PPM schedules
Using the CMMS to plan and manage maintenance
Carrying out and reviewing risk assessments
Managing contractors and engineering permits
Planning maintenance during shutdowns
Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement
Coaching and developing engineers
Ordering engineering parts and working with OEMs
Maintaining high health, safety and engineering standards

What we're looking for
The successful Engineering Team Leader will ideally have:
Experience within heavy manufacturing or heavy engineering
Previous engineering supervisory or leadership experience
A mechanical or electrical engineering background
Experience carrying out risk assessments
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience organising engineers and maintenance activities
A relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship
