Working alongside an existing technician, you'll play a key role in keeping tooling in excellent condition and ready for production.

This is a practical, engineering-focused role suited to someone with previous toolroom, tooling, asset care, or injection moulding experience. It's not a high-pressure production position and it's not an entry-level opportunity. Instead, it's a well-structured role where experience, reliability, and attention to detail are genuinely valued.

What's on Offer

  • Approx. £30,000 earnings based on 30 hours per week
  • Full-time equivalent salary of £36,500 - £40,000
  • Flexible 3 or 4 day working week
  • Hours can be tailored around the right person
  • Overtime hourly rate
  • 33 days holiday (pro rata)
  • 4% employer pension contribution
  • Death in service cover
  • Stable long-term manufacturing environment
  • Opportunity to work independently within a dedicated tooling support function

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing production tooling
  • Stripping, cleaning, inspecting, and rebuilding tools ready for production
  • Diagnosing tooling faults and carrying out repairs
  • Completing preventative maintenance to maximise tool life and reliability
  • Supporting tool change activities when required
  • Recording maintenance work and tooling history accurately
  • Working closely with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing performance
  • Helping maintain high standards of safety, organisation, and housekeeping

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Tool Asset Care Technician, Tool Room Technician, Toolmaker, or similar tooling-focused role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach
  • Experience maintaining and repairing production tooling
  • Injection moulding tooling experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to maintenance
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to high standards
  • Someone looking for a flexible engineering role without stepping away from practical engineering work

Flexible part-time days: 24-30 hours per week. Flexible 3 or 4 day working week. Working days can be discussed. Occasional weekend working required. Overtime available when needed.

If you're an experienced Toolmaker, Tool Room Technician, or Tool Asset Care Technician looking for a flexible role where your experience is valued and your work-life balance matters, we'd love to hear from you.
