Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking for a secure Monday to Friday role within a well-established food manufacturing business? We're recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a successful FMCG manufacturer in Bellshill. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault finding, planned maintenance, electrical maintenance and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.
The successful Maintenance Engineer will complete an initial training period on days before moving permanently onto the backshift.
The Role
As the Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping production running by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns and completing project work across the site. You'll work independently on backshift while supporting the Backshift Manager and forming part of a close-knit engineering team consisting of four engineers and a Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
- Respond quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns
- Fault find and repair manufacturing equipment
- Complete reactive maintenance and planned maintenance
- Support engineering projects and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain accurate maintenance records through the CMMS
- Monitor engineering spare parts
- Work safely in line with Health & Safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with production and management teams
Requirements
- Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (approximately 70% electrical / 30% mechanical)
- Previous Maintenance Engineer experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or manufacturing
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience
- 18th Edition qualification desirable
- Experience with automation systems
- PLC fault-finding experience would be advantageous
- Ability to read electrical and pneumatic drawings
- Comfortable working independently
- Stable employment history with long-term employers
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
Hours
Monday-Friday Backshift: 12:00pm-8:30pm Initial training period on day shift (5:30am-2:00pm)
