The Role - Welding Technician
- Assessing, repairing and rebuilding forge tooling used within the manufacturing process
- Carrying out MMA, TIG, MIG and gas welding activities
- Preparing worn tooling for repair through grinding, machining and material removal processes
- Supporting fabrication and welding activities across the wider site
- Welding production components used within specialist manufacturing processes
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Using measuring equipment to ensure work is completed to specification
- Maintaining welding equipment and ensuring high standards of workmanship
- Supporting maintenance teams with welding and fabrication requirements when needed
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Welder, Welder Fabricator, Welding Technician or Industrial Welder
- Strong welding skills across multiple processes, including MMA, MIG and TIG
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working within manufacturing, heavy engineering, steel, foundry or industrial environments
- Good understanding of materials and welding techniques
- Experience using measuring equipment and maintaining quality standards
- Welding qualifications, apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds would be advantageous
- Positive attitude towards safety, quality and continuous improvement
This role would suit candidates from heavy manufacturing, steelworks, forging, foundries, fabrication, engineering workshops, industrial maintenance or similar environments.
