The Role - Welding Technician

  • Assessing, repairing and rebuilding forge tooling used within the manufacturing process
  • Carrying out MMA, TIG, MIG and gas welding activities
  • Preparing worn tooling for repair through grinding, machining and material removal processes
  • Supporting fabrication and welding activities across the wider site
  • Welding production components used within specialist manufacturing processes
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Using measuring equipment to ensure work is completed to specification
  • Maintaining welding equipment and ensuring high standards of workmanship
  • Supporting maintenance teams with welding and fabrication requirements when needed

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a Welder, Welder Fabricator, Welding Technician or Industrial Welder
  • Strong welding skills across multiple processes, including MMA, MIG and TIG
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working within manufacturing, heavy engineering, steel, foundry or industrial environments
  • Good understanding of materials and welding techniques
  • Experience using measuring equipment and maintaining quality standards
  • Welding qualifications, apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds would be advantageous
  • Positive attitude towards safety, quality and continuous improvement
