An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Energy & Utilities Project Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing site, supporting a key energy optimisation and sustainability programme. This role is ideal for someone with a practical engineering background who wants to move into energy, utilities, and project-based work. You’ll play a key role in helping the site improve energy efficiency across major systems, including refrigeration, compressed air, and process equipment.
Working closely with both the Engineering and Sustainability teams, the Energy & Utilities Project Engineer will act as a bridge between departments, supporting projects, analysing performance, and working hands-on with plant and contractors.
The Role:
- Support energy optimisation projects across site utilities and plant equipment
- Work across refrigeration, compressed air, vacuum systems, and process machinery
- Monitor energy usage and help identify areas for efficiency improvement
- Review plant performance, set points, and operating parameters
- Maintain energy-related records, schematics, and asset information
- Liaise with contractors and support on-site project work
- Spend time both in the office and on the shop floor (approx. 50/50 split)
About You:
- Background in engineering, utilities, or manufacturing
- Experience or exposure to plant such as compressors, refrigeration, HVAC, or similar
- Able to read and understand technical drawings or schematics
- Practical mindset with a hands-on approach
- Strong communication skills and comfortable working across teams
- Interested in energy, sustainability, or optimisation projects
