Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their busy manufacturing operation in Cumbernauld. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving, and working within a fast-paced production environment. The successful Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving plant reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Working closely with production teams to improve plant performance and productivity.
  • Investigating breakdowns and machinery speed losses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensuring spare parts, materials, and maintenance resources are available when required.
  • Recording maintenance activities and repairs to identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Multi-skilled engineering experience with a strong electrical bias.
  • Ability to fault-find on single and three-phase systems, servo motors, AC motors, sensors, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and electrical installations, including lighting and small power.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience covering gearboxes, drive systems, rollers, shafts, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to strip down machinery to component level and rebuild equipment effectively.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent preferred, although time-served engineers will also be considered.
  • Strong communication skills, organisational ability, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
