Reporting to: Chief Actuary
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Life company for a Reinsurance Actuary to join their team, working directly with the Chief Actuary on reinsurance pricing and treaty management.
The Role:
- Lead reinsurance pricing activities, including discussions and negotiations with reinsurance counterparties
- Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work with the Chief Actuary, BPA Pricing team, and Head of Reporting to design and administer capital-efficient solutions managing longevity, lapse and mortality risk
- Implement and oversee operational aspects of reinsurance treaties, including collateral, administration and reporting solutions
- Support and mentor junior members of the wider actuarial and pricing teams
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Actuary or nearly qualified, with a clear path to qualification
- Experience within Pricing, Actuarial or Reporting functions of a UK Life assurer, or in a reinsurer's pricing/administration function
- Strong knowledge of UK Defined Benefit pensions and reinsurance structures
- Operational experience of longevity swaps and flow treaties, including administration and collateral
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to senior, non-actuarial audiences
