Lead and drive the formulation and execution of business development strategies, promoting continuous growth in new markets and customer segments. Responsible for managing and developing the business development team, ensuring achievement of key performance indicators, and reporting business progress and strategic plans to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and lead long-term business development strategies and annual plans, including clear objectives, KPIs, and time-critical milestones.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, partnerships, and business models.
- Drive the incubation and implementation of new business lines to ensure sustained revenue growth.
- Regularly report business development progress, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Assist in hiring and training new employees.
- Client & Performance Management
- Establish and maintain high-level relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
- Monitor and optimise the effectiveness of customer acquisition, conversion, and retention strategies.
- Lead needs analysis, value chain analysis, and value proposition definition for complex client projects.
- Engage proactively in multi-channel activity, positively impacting sales through lead generation, prospecting, sales enquiry qualification, quotations, product knowledge and stakeholder interaction.
- Take overall responsibility for departmental KPIs, ensuring continuous target achievement.
- Team Management & Development
- Lead, coach, and motivate the business development team to enhance overall performance.
- Develop career development plans for team members and cultivate high-potential talent.
- Establish efficient team collaboration mechanisms to ensure smooth cross-departmental coordination.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education Background
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, with at least 1 year in team management.
- Extensive experience in e-commerce/cross-border shipping solution sales and multi-channel platforms.
- Proven track record of successfully entering new markets or launching new business lines.
- Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); bilingual will be essential.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in e-marketing tools and methods, capable of guiding teams in developing effective marketing strategies.
- Able to design and optimize online sales concepts and customer experiences based on ROI-driven models.
- In-depth technical understanding of e-commerce platforms and the logistics industry.
